0-6-0 DIESEL ELECTRIC SHUNTER, CLASS 08 Two running numbers
The LMS first experimented with Diesel shunting locomotives
before the Second World War and the Class 08 design owes much
to the work done prior
to the nationalisation. At 49 Tons and
with a traction of 35,000lbs, the 08's were more than suited
for their task. Type 7 motor fitted to SSPP chassis.

WEATHER EDITION
There were 50 of these Ruston Paxman 12 cylinder powered
locomotives built between 1983 & 1987 most of which are used
to haul 'merry-go-round' trains. The colouring on this model
is that of Railfreight coal sector livery and consequently
does not look out of place with a weathered appearance. A type
motor powers the model.

EWS CO-CO DIESEL ELECTRIC CLASS 37 (MULTIPLE
WORKING), WEATHERED EDITION
The class 37 was
designed as a mixed traffic locomotive and is as much at home
pulling passenger stock as MGR's. Their distinctive engine
roar supplied by a 12 cylinder English Electric motor
emphasised the power that these locomotives have. The Hornby
example has two 37's working 'closed coupled' a sight quite
often seen on the BR network. Power is provided by a ringfield
motor located in the leading model with both locomotives
benefiting from the weathered effect.
