BR 4-6-2 "CLAN LINE" MERCHANT NAVY CLASS
 

Arguably the most famous of Merchant Navy Class "Clan Line" was the last of its type to be rebuilt in October 1959. At that time the Locomotive had achieved over 400,000 miles but but withdrawal the mileage had increased to nearly 800,000. "Clan Line" is now maintained and operated by the Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society Limited and can be seen hauling a distinguished rake of Pullman coaches. As with the other Hornby Merchant Navy models, "Clan Line" is powered by a 5 pole motor housed in the Locomotive.

LMS 4-6-2 "CITY OF BIRMINGHAM" CORONATION CLASS
 

First of the streamline Coronation to be built with a double chimney. the 'city of Birmingham' left the Crewe workshops in July 1939. By the end of its working life and after being rebuilt in 1946, 'City of Birmingham' had traveled over 1.5 million miles and was eventually 'retired' to the Birmingham Museum. Fitted with a 5 pole motor housed in the locomotive, the loco boasts a high degree of detail as well as numerous pick-ups ensuring a smooth control at slow speed. Includes alternative front bogie

LNER 4-6-2 "KESTREL" CLASS A4
 

Another LNER classically designed Loco built at Doncaster works "Kestrel" was fitted with a corridor tender so that it could be used on the lucrative non stop expresses from London to Scotland and remained in LNER garter blue livery from 1937 until 1942. IN 1947 Kestrel was renamed "Miles Beevor" and was once painted in garter blue. The  model fairly bristles with fine detail and incorporates the ringfield motor in the tender.

BR 4-6-2 "SQUADRON" BATTLE OF BRITAIN CLASS
 

Named after the fighter Squadron that flew out of Biggin Hill in the second World War, the locomotive 92 "Squadron" first appeared in 1948 carrying a malachite livery but with newly formed British Railway name on the tender. The locomotive was withdrawn in 1964, but by the end of 1976 was destined for preservations. The  Hornby model is heavily detailed and incorporate scale wheels and valve gear, correct profile tender., cab interior and several separately fitted components with a 5 pole motor housed in the locomotove.

BR BR 4 - 6 - 2 BATTLE OF BRITAIN CLASS 34067 "TANGMERE"
 

Built at the Brighton works in 1947, " Tangmere" was one of the few in its class not to be rebuilt. However, the locomotove did receive twq liveries - the first being in British Railway lined malachite and the second the more sober BR green with the running number becoming 34067. The Hornby "Tangmere", carrying the early BR emblem  features extensive details with fine scale wheels and valve gear, interior cab detail, fitted handrails + a five pole motor with pickups on all six driving wheels for excellent control at slow speed.

GWR 4-6-0 "4097" KENILWORTH CASTLE
 

Built in June 1926  number 4097 "kenilworth Castle" was one of the first batch of Castles produced by GWR at their Swindon works. The locomotive saw many years of service before withdrawn in May 1960. The model has a ringfield motor in the Loco body, which in turn carries the Livery of the late 1920's, early 1930's period.

LNER 4-6-0 CLASS B17/4 LOCO "NORWICH CITY"
 

The Gresley designed B17 sub class 4 locomotives were named after famous football clubs and showed a representation of a football on the nameplate. Model has correctly spaced driving wheels and appropriate brake gear, blackened valve gear, fine scale wheels and handrails. Superbly  turned out in the distinctive lined livery of  LNER. It is powered by a ringfield motor housed in the tender with extra pick-ups fitted to the locomotive for smooth operation at low speed.

BR 4-4-0 CLASS 2P LOCOMOTIVE "40610"
 

The Henry designed Fowler passenger locomotive was fitted with 6' 9" drive wheels which gave the 2P a tractive effort of 17.730lbs. The livery on the model places the date of operation in the late 1940's. However several of the class survived into the 1960's. Powered by a ringfield motor located in the tender of the Hornby 2P, with its   blackened wheels and handrails, has an abundance of detail which has either incorporated into the fine mouldings or separately fitted during manufacture.

LMS 0-6-0 CLASS 4F FOWLER LOCO "4418"
 

The 4F was one of the most numerous classes in the days of LMS, with 772 built in total. They were vacuum fitted to fit passenger trains but were mainly used for goods traffic.  The model carries the LMS lettering and is produced in the unglamorous black livery of the period. The ringfield motor is situated in the tender which is  connected to the locomotive by a drawbar with all wheels and con-rods chemically treated to give a blackened finish.

GWR 2-6-2T PRAIRE CLASS 61XX LOCO "6105"

A development from previous design, C.B. Collett introducedthe 61XX in 1931 and until the mid 1950's this deceptively powerful class of locomotive handled heavy suburban traffic in and around London, although in later period the Prairies also handled freight. This fine Hornby model has superb detail, much of which is individually fitted during manufacture and is resplendent in its Great Western livery of the late 20's early 30's period by type HP motor.
